How Rotary Funding of $5,000 and other funds raised for Nepal Earthquake were used. 
*  Provided emergency relief for 372 families (1700 + people) in 4 districts with food, tarps and medicines 
*  Allowed partnering with youth groups, college volunteers, HOPE International and more. 
*  Work primarily with most marginalized  and Dalit women.
*  Additionally World Accord Funded the construction of 23 shelter homes.   

There is a multiplier effect too.  Because Rotary helped fund the earthquake relief at the start and the initial funding helped our partner organization Women for Peace and Democracy-Nepal to get started in relief and reconstruction, they have already built 83 homes in total and at least one school. Additionally, World Accord was able to partner with Hope International (a Christian organization) and Human Concern International (a Muslim organization) to put together a three year, $123,000 program for rebuilding of lives and livelihoods.  The cool thing is that two Christian organizations and one Muslim organization are working together to fund a Buddhist and Hindu organization.   

Not only has the $5000 seed planted by Rotary in Nepal through World Accord brought a great harvest, it has helped develop the capacity of our partner organization to do even more for the people they serve.
