Speaker:
David Barth - Update on the International Committee and where our funds have gone.
International Committee consists of Chuck Thompson, Allison Scott, Kathy Loveys, Belle Sainz, Jack Kinch, and Jim Kibble
Large part of the committee is to look at proposals
Submitting proposals digitally to Rotary International is in the works, so that could make things more efficient when researching future proposals
Criteria for them is to work with an NGO or professional at the other end as it’s difficult to know exactly where the money is going unless you have this. They typically try to have it fit within what is for the good of the public/community and fits within our Rotary motto.
Funded in 2018:
1. Microcredit (Microloan) - $1500
2. Wilfred Laurier - $3500
3. Equity Kids International - Pediatric Wheelchairs (cost $300 each) - we funded $3000
