MINUTES OF MEETING

President Mac announced that the no more judges were needed for the gingerbread house build event for Camino.

 

December 4 is our Rotary Christmas Party at Westmount Golf Club. 

 

Mac announced that there were two upcoming fellowship events planned to include Merry and Bright and White Christmas.

 

Karin Voisin said that toiletries are needed for Christmas hampers for House of Friendship and to please bring them to our weekly meetings.

 

Kelly has requested that she will need help for the Salvation Army on December 9 in organizing, wrapping, and distributing Christmas gifts for those in need.

 

John Thompson is selling jigsaw puzzles of the West Montrose covered bridge as a fundraiser for the Humane Society.

 

50/50 Pot: $63.50:  There was no winner.

 

 

 

 

 

Todd Aitchison introduced John. John spoke to the group about 2014-2015, when he was our 35^th President.

 

John has lived a fascinating life and has been a major contributor to our community in many capacities over many years. John cleverly had a quiz as a part of his presentation and awarded prizes at the end of his presentation for two who scored high on the quiz.

 

John succeeded Todd Aitchison as president of our club and was succeeded when his term ended by Tim Bradich. The average membership of our club in the decade from 2011-2019 was in the 70’s.

 

John and his wife attended the Rotary International convention in Sydney, Australia and had a vacation in Hawaii on the return trip.

 

Our weekly meetings were held at the Crown Plaza Hotel in downtown Kitchener.

 

Our club collaborated with the Rotary club in Mildmay in collecting bicycles to donate. An interesting presentation was made during his year as president by Bill Pegg’s daughter about Doctors Without Borders. The top VFL ticket salesperson that year was Bill Stevens.
