Rotary Meeting Notes – Wed. June 18/25

On Wednesday June 18, approximately 30 Rotarians and guests were in attendance at the Concordia Club for the drawing of the winning tickets in the Vacation Fantasy Lottery.

President Mac shared the following announcements:

KidsAbility Luncheon – volunteers are sought to assist with the Staff Luncheon at KidsAbility- please contact president Mac.

Changeover dinner- the End of Year Changeover dinner, the last meeting for president Mac’s 2024-25 term, will be held Wednesday June 25 at Rebel Creek Golf Course. The event is organized by president-elect John Rose with 43

Rotarians and guests planning to attend. Several members are also golfing at Rebel Creek earlier in the day.

Welcome to new member John Anderson who will be inducted at a luncheon meeting in the new future.

VACATION FANTASY LOTTERY Prize Draw

An electronic random selector resulted in the following winners in the Vacation Fantasy Lottery::

1. Vietnam – Chris Thoms- sold by John Rose
2. Japan – Martha George – sold by Paul Puopolo
3. Croatia – Marilyn Thiessen - sold by Bill Stevens
4. Aruba – Mary Ann Burke – sold by Michelle Burke

The accompanying 50/50draw, with a prize package of $5,680, was won by Tyler Rose.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:18 pm.

On a beautiful sunny day in Victoria Park, Board members enjoyed a cold beverage at a recent Board meeting.

John Thompson organized an interesting King Trumpty "TACO" Dumbty pool.

Three of the participants, Bill Stevens, John and Paul Puopolo gathered for lunch recently, appropriately enjoying "Trumpty Chicken Tacos".

The Rotary Club of Kitchener - Westmount Foundation facilitated a donation in memory of the 10 year anniversary of the passing of Hugh Detzler to the Mildmay Rotary Club at the two-club social on Wednesday June 11 at the Mildmay Rotary Park. The payment brought the total donation from the Detzler family to $10,000 to be used for capital improvements and maintenance to the popular Rotary Park.
