Everton Wilmot reported the Board has voted to support the capital campaign for the Kitchener Waterloo Human Society. The board has pledged $100,000 over 5 years from the club. The donation will support the "Pet Pantry", which will be called "Rotary Kitchener-Westmount Pet Pantry"
Everton put forward a motion for the club to support the donation. Seconded by Graham Gardiner. All in Favour, Motion carried.
You know what happens when we get to the middle of August? Well we prepare for one of our major fundraisers. Crown and Anchor !! Troy Stuebing will be bringing in the sign up sheets to our next meeting. With some minor changes, later start times, slightly longer shifts, this year we need everyone to participate. The easiest and most enjoyable way to raise $15,000-$18,000! Low risk, a ton of fun, and you get to listen to fabulous Germain music. Thanks Troy for looking after this.
Ray Finnie gave details of an upcoming fundraiser on Thursday Oct 3. "Lace up for Diabetes"- a fundraiser walk- Further details to follow.
Oct 5th-SAVE THE DATE-for the Rotary Fall District Conference in Milton-Mac will provide more details.

Dr. Neil Naik- Ontario Health
Simon Adler introduced Neil. Our speaker practices Family Medicine in Waterloo. Neil spoke on AI in medicine. He explained the use of technology will be the future of medicine.
Currently, we are far away from having an efficient health care system. A radical rethinking for electronic clinical information systems is urgently needed. AI can help!
Doctors don't know everything. Technology can help. Help to provide faster access to information, help track patients over time, enhance the decision making process and increase privacy and security.
People are becoming more comfortable with the use of AI. People feel the use of AI could improve patient outcomes, and not a surprise, younger people are more comfortable with AI.
There are numerous benefits with the use of AI. AI can build the notes from a conversation between a patient and Doctor. The doctor can spend their time listening to the patient.
AI can predict how busy emergency departments will be, helping to improve wait times and control labour costs.
AI-Lets Make it practical.
Predictive scheduling-can tell if a Doctor is running behind and let the patient know.
Automated patient follow-up and monitoring.
Can give better health service.
Let's imagine the Future
We are facing a future with fewer Doctors, So the use of AI is essential. There are numerous AI Apps being developed to help Doctors deal with patient care.
