Speaker

Our guest speakers today were Catherine Wilkinson and Constable Carol Grandy from the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS).  Ian Robertson provided an introduction.

Catherine provides members with an brief presentation on the "Citizens Police Academy" which provides a select group of citizens with an understanding of the police service.  The chosen individuals receive a multi-week introduction to the police service and receive presentations regarding interesting and little known aspects of local policing.

Carol provided members with a brief presentation on the Children's Safety Village located at WRPS headquarters.  The village was created by the WRPS  in partnership with local schools, service clubs, businesses and many others in the community.  The village opened in 1992 and a Fire Education Centre component was added in 1997.

President Ed thanked Catherine and Carol on behalf of the Club.
