Syd Vanderpool thanked President Mac for stepping in when our speaker was not able to attend.  
We learned the various ways to make donations to our favourite charitable organizations. There are significant benefits to researching which method produces the most money for the organization and the best tax benefit for the donor.

-How do we give money?
-cash, always make sure to get a receipt for tax credits
-bequests, this is leaving money in the will.
-Always be specific with who the money is going to and how much
-gifts in kind
-registered plans, you can name a beneficiary on these plans
-Legacy options: life insurance, you can name a charity or foundation as a beneficiary
