Vacation Fantasy Lottery - Neil Aitchison is the top seller of tickets so far. Mac encouraged all to get busy selling tickets as we are only at around $10,000 of a $100,000 goal. The draw is on June 18th.
May 23rd - Window Washing at Hospice Waterloo Region - Friday from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. More volunteers needed. Equipment will be provided. Dress appropriately to get a bit wet.
May 28th - Toyota Manufacturing Corp. A one hour tour and optional lunch to follow at Moose Winooskis. We can have up to 40 people, so bring a friend.
June 11th - join with the Rotary Club of Mildmay at their local park for a picnic. Sign up with John Thompson
June 25th -President Changeover at Rebel Creek Golf club. Invitation to be sent out. Golf will be available.
Guest Speaker - Kayla Widish - Community Support Connections
Community Support Connections provides life-changing services for caregivers, older adults and people with diverse abilities, to help them to stay in their own homes. There is a sliding scale for service fees to ensure services are affordable for everyone, while maintaining our high standard of care.
Community Support Connections offers services under four areas: Nutrition, Physical Health, Social Wellbeing, and Help at Home.
Nutrition - From Monday to Friday, meals are delivered by 250 Volunteers on 30 routes. Meals are delivered hot and ready to eat and range from $6 - $16 depending on ability to pay. They also provide frozen meals for future us. They also assist with various levels of Grocery shopping support.
Physical Health - Exercise and Falls Prevention programs are offered in various sites around the region as well as information talks on various topics relating to physical health.
Social Well-being - Caregiver supports are provided as well as programs designed to offer friendly connections, visiting and reassurance phone calls. Transportation can be arranged for clients to appointments, and other destinations.
Help At Home - This includes light housekeeping, meal prep, yard work, all done by independent contractors - not volunteers.
