On Friday October 7th we had a full house at the Concordia Club for the President’s Luncheon.  As you can see from the pictures, we all had a good time.

The luncheon gave us an opportunity to honour and remember John Vickery, who organized this luncheon with great success in past years.  Three of John’s daughters joined us as well as several of John’s coworkers. Mr. Oktoberfest will be missed.

We are happy to say we met our fund raising target and proceeds will go to support our International initiatives. Stay tuned for more details at a later date.

This luncheon could not have happened without the assistance of our Rotary volunteers and club members who sought sponsorships, sold tickets and attended the event. Despite some small challenges and the three year delay due to COVID, we had a terrific time.

A special shout out goes to Neil Aitchison for his Master of Ceremony duties.

Thanks to all of our sponsors and members for making this event a success.

Special thanks to Alison Scott for taking charge. Well done Alison!

Any feedback about the event would be appreciated.
If you have ideas for the future please contact Alison.
Legendary Master of Ceremony Neil Aitchison and President Everton entertain the crowd.

President Everton and Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest President Allan Cayenne raise a stein at the luncheon.

We remember John and his great work organizing the  luncheon over the years.
On Wednesday October 12, 24 members came to John’s Funeral and formed an Honour Guard for the family leaving the Memorial and also for guests attending the luncheon.  It was very special to demonstrate the care we had for John and his family at this sad time.  Through the stories we heard about John we could see that he was well-loved by his family and respected by his friends.
Our witness proved his value as a Rotarian who gave of himself in Service Above Self.
