MINUTES OF MEETING

Announcements:
President Mac announced that the one more judge was need for the evening of December 9 for the gingerbread house build event for Camino.
December 4 is our Rotary Christmas Party at Westmount Golf Club.
Our Club sent member Brooke Outingdyke a planter and wished her well on her recovery from heart surgery.
John Thompson announced that there were 3 upcoming fellowship events planned to include Merry and Bright, White Christmas and the movie that Everton has a role in.
Karin Voisin said that Louise Gardiner will need help to distribute Christmas hampers for House of Friendship.
Everton announced that we have donated $4000 to Eastwood Collegiate for their drumming program. They will invite us to a concert at Eastwood to thank us.
50/50 Pot: $651.50: Karin Voisin was the lucky winner; congrats Karin.

Judy Nairn: Financial update
Judy presented the financial statements for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024, for our Club and our Charitable Foundation.
Our Club had revenues of $85k and small loss of $5k, after expenses. Our Foundation has revenues of $138k and net surplus of $63k after the allocation of funds.
Our Club had $96k in cash and our Foundation had $30k in cash and $66k in a GIC. Judy has formed a financial advisory group that includes John Rose and Ray Finnie to review our banking situation, and the “Letter of Credit” issue related to our Vacation Draw.
Who am I?? Aman Sekhon
Aman joined Rotary after meeting President Mac when Mac tore his knee playing pickleball.
Aman is a physio practitioner. Aman was born in Rexdale and spent his youth in Mississauga. He went to Ryerson to study business. While at Ryerson, he tore his knee and became fascinated with the process of physio for rehabilitation of injuries. He moved to Cardiff, Wales to study physio.
After graduation, he and his wife spent time living in Dubai. After that, they moved to Canada and settled in the KW area and have 2 young daughters. Aman is now managing the physio business and really enjoys the work that he does relating to muscle injuries and concussions.
Aman has joined Rotary to grow and learn. He likes being with “like minded people,” the networking experience as well as helping in the community. WELCOME AMAN.
Update on current / recent Rotary Fellowships and activities:
USA Election Pool - thanks to Rotarians who provided prize items for this unique project. Congratulations to Rotary members who finished in the top 10 - John Villemaire (3rd); Mac Graham (6th), John Thompson (8th), Karen Spencer (9th) and Kelly Strome (10th).
The winner was Ann Bilodeau (KW Habilitation Services) while Andrew Bryden was 2nd (both participants correctly named the presidential winners in 11 of the 13 "battle ground and swing" states).
Monday evening Nov.18 - 7 pm - Rotary Movie Fellowship - The premiere of Dickson & Bruce's "The Case of the Phantom Firestarter" featuring our own past-president Everton at the Kitchener Public Library - all Rotary tickets are reserved (my understanding this showing has a waiting list) and many in our Rotary group will enjoy pre-theatre dinner at Three Kretans Restaurant.
Sunday afternoon Nov. 24 - 1 pm - Rotary Live Theatre Fellowship - the stage performance of "Merry and Bright" featuring our own Rotary charter member Neil who will also host a "Meet the Cast" segment. Thanks to generous sponsors and Rotary members, our private event at the Hildebrand Schoolhouse Theatre in St. Jacobs has all 100 seats reserved, including our guests from the Rotary Club of Mildmay and is SOLD OUT.
Saturday afternoon Dec 7- 2 pm Rotary Live Theatre Fellowship of the musical comedy "White Christmas" at Drayton Entertainment's Hamilton FamilyTheatre in downtown Cambridge. Rotary's complement of seats are all gone and my understanding is there are only a few seats remaining at the box office. About half of our group will be enjoying pre-theatre lunch at the Foundry Restaurant, adjacent to the theatre
