Stronger Communities - Festival of lights!
This week, preparation for the Diwali festival of lights celebration in Eltham are in full swing. This year, Diamond Creek Rotary are collaborating with Eltham Lions and the '2026 Eltham Diwali Celebration project' to bring this project to life. The event will be at the Eltham town square from 5-8PM. Warwick will be seeking support for a few volunteers to help deliver the project in the coming days!
Nillumbik Council - community grants program
The relationship between Nillumbik council and Diamond Creek Rotary has never been stronger. Last week, we were honored to have our former connection with council for community projects, Anna Maio, talk with us about how grants are managed, the impact that is sought from council grants and of course the unending request for project support thats council recieves. Anna has been a source of great encouragement to Diamond Creek Rotary over many years, and here presence at council will be missed! Diamond Creek Rotary particpants in many recurrent council grant programs incluidng for Town Fair, Seniors week (Devonshire Delights), Festive season grants (more to come on this soon) and other community building projects.
RYLA Nominations
The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) program is a fantastic opportunity for young adults to get ahead. RYLA gives young people a leg-up — helping them build confidence, develop leadership skills, discover their strengths and create connections that can open doors for their future.
If you know a young person who would benefit from this experience, now is the time to nominate them.
