Lesley advised that approval had been received to fund a generator for "Shake Up" and a defibrillator for the Tarawera Community, which will be located at Solitaire Lodge for easy access.

John Murray gave members an update on the Rotorua market noting the following points:

Council are offering a one year licence with no automatic right of renewal

There will be requirements around Health and Safety which we will need to comply with, these are as a result of recent changes to legislation.

There will be tighter regulations relating to our opening and closing time and security during this time

Roles and responsibilities will have to be defined for a Market Event Coordinator and H&S Coordinator.

Noel Hill - 50 years of service
Noel joined the Rotary Club of Bulls as a Charter member in 1967.
He has also been a member of Wanganui South and Fielding before joining Rotorua North in 1997.
In 2017 he will be President of Rotorua North.
When i asked Noel why he joined Rotary he said one day 3 very distinguished gentlemen turned up at the office to talk to his dad, who promptly sent them down the corridor to see him, and the rest as they say is history.

Community Committee Fundraising Auction
Thank you to the Community Committee for this great initiative, the grand sum of $738 was raised from tonights auction to go to "Love Soup". I'm sure it could have been more if Brett didn't play the "I have a family to feed" card.
Thanks also to Richard Evans for extracting the money with his superb auctioneering skills and Robyn Skelton for pulling it all together in an entertaining powerpoint. I wonder if Paul knows how many times he featured??)

Useful information if you are on duty
If you are rostered for Grace/Cashier/Welcome duties, it is your responsibility to:

Present yourself by 5.15pm to prepare the room for the club meeting.

Be ready to greet club members and visitors by 5.30pm.

Put out all equipment from the store room and to ensure venue is appropriately set up.
-
Ensure equipment is returned to its rightful place in the store room at conclusion of meeting and that the venue is left tidy.
-
Equipment includes bell, gavel, lectern, President’s banner, NZ flags, badge box, visitor’s book & labels, registration sheet, make-up sheet and pen, portrait of the Queen, pennant banners and speaker system (check it works).

Presentation aids such as projectors, screen, video, TV, data show, etc may be required – the need for these should be advised by the member introducing the speaker. Assist in setting this equipment up.

When an alternative venue is being used, ensure all equipment is transferred to and returned from the alternative meeting place

Join the President as his/her guest at the top table for the meal

Lisette will be speaking about Days for Girls - an organisation dedicated to creating a more free, dignified, and educated world, through providing lasting access to feminine hygiene solutions and health education.
According to Richard Evans this is a presentation not to be missed.
