Rotary Club of Dalhousie Minutes of March 18, 2026
Paula called the meeting to order at 6:31 pm Nine members were present.
Moved by Gail, seconded by Kathy to accept the agenda. Motion carried.
Committee Reports: 1. Fundraising: Kathy reported that we have our lottery license for a monthly 50/50 draw starting April 1st. We will promote this fundraiser on Facebook and with posters. We have a new email address to be able to accept e-transfers. It is Dalhousierotary@gmail.com We are modelling it after the Oromocto Rotary Club’s 50/50 fundraiser.
2. Service: May 16th is Rotary’s Epic Day of Service. We will schedule our Park Cleanup on that day. We also discussed having a Food Drive on May 23rd or the 30th. Kathy also shared that family friend Rotarian Sam Langton was traveling to Vietnam participating in a Habitat for Humanity service project.
3. Youth Services: Adventure in Citizenship 2026. Janet reported that the registration and travel request forms for Brooklyn Hicks have seen sent to Ottawa.
4. Theme for March: It was noted that the Rotary theme for March is Water, Sanitation & Hygiene. FYI: Previously, Nancy and Julie from our club travelled to the Dominican as part of a water filtration service project team.
New Business: 1. District Convention May 29-31. Paula will send an email to see how many members are interested in attending the convention. Depending on the amount interest we will determine what we can cover for expenses. President and Secretary Elect training is on May 29th prior to the start of the convention.
2. Website: Paula is working on content so Terri can get a website developed for us.
Correspondence; 1. Gala de Partenaire invitation for March 19th. Gail and Paula will attend. This event is to recognize the school partners in the French district.
2. Silent Auction Yves Meunier 3x3 hockey tournament. It was agreed that we would purchase a piece of pottery valued at $100 from Monique Brown and donate it to the silent auction. Monique Warren Perry will look after this. 3. Autism society request - no motion 4. Spring Hockey player sponsorship - no motion 5. Thank you note from DRHS Badketball
Next Meeting: April 8, 2026 at 6:00 pm Jean Coutu. We agreed that we would meet every two weeks.
