With the start of a new financial year comes the yearly change of Club Presidents for a Rotary Club.
Following a wonderful changeover event at the Townsville Yacht club, outgoing President Miriam, handed over the reigns to Sue Lloyd for the 2019-2020 Rotary year.
Past President Miriam did a wonderful job in presiding over the club in the past year and was warmly thanked by those present. Miriam also paid tribute to her fellow Board members and presented awards to various people for the wonderful work they had done to promote Rotary during her period of chairmanship.
Incoming President Sue announced she is looking forward to the coming year and aims to build on the clubs community success and build membership during her period as President. We all  wish her well and have no doubt she will do a magnificent job at the helm.
The Club is also proud that in the week prior to our changeover night, Ron Degenhart, a long serving member of our great club, a multiple past President and Paul Harris Fellow, was appointed as the District Governor of our District 9550. Ron we all wish you well and know that you, and Vicki, will take on this important District responsibility and provide us all with great guidance.  Its a big role but one that Ron will ensure is done to build both Rotary and our communities with compassion. Its is also a challenging year as our district is amalgamated with another District following Rons year, so the work load in assisting with the reorganisation of both District will add another level of challenges.
