Charitable Foundations
The Foundations Director oversees the promotion and operation of two charitable foundations that we are involved with.
- Club Foundation - The Club Foundation is our locally-managed charitable foundation, which accepts gifts and bequests from the community. Causes supported by our club foundation are usually longer-term. Donors may restrict their funds to specific uses and may specify that the gift form a permanent endowment under which the capital is retained and only the proceeds from investment are disbursed.
- Rotary International Foundation - Rotary International runs a large foundation that provides scholarships, responds to international crises, and undertakes big international projects. For example, the Rotary International Foundation has led the effort to eradicate polio.
Donations to either the Club Foundation or the RI Foundation are eligible for Canadian income tax charitable receipts.
