Stories
Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Linda led the meeting today.
Paul M recited the 4 way test and Randy gave the invocation.
There were 24 Rotarians  present from our club, 1 visiting Rotarian (Tony Dennison from RC Kitchener-Conestoga) and 2 guests (Kim Gagne and Dianne Wiles).

Health and Good Cheer
Everyone is in good health today.
50-50 Draw
Johnny J ran the 50/50 which he estimated between $700 and $999.99.  Neil and new member Steve Brand were both losers.
Good News
  • New member Kim Beaucage is opening her dental office next week, in the plaza across from GCC.
  • Paul M's daughter turned 30 today, having overcome lots of adversity in her early life.
  • I'm happy to be back in Cambridge, but judging by the white flakes gently falling outside the window, my timing was not good.
Jokester
Jokester Paul sent an imposter to the club today, who told a G-rated joke.  This one could have been in a Walt Disney movie. Kind of funny, but I missed seeing the guests shifting awkwardly in their seats.
Announcements and Upcoming Events
  • Rina - We are serving dinner at the Bridges on Dec 18th. Optional social time at the Mill afterwards.  Also we will be handing out 100 sanitation packs (is that the right term?) with soap, toothbrushes, that kind of thing.  Donations are requested...contact Rina if you have some to donate.
  • Pres. Linda - Club Christmas Party tomorrow at The Pines in Preston (for those with tickets).  6pm drinks, 7pm dinner.
  • Visitors Dianne and Tony told us about Leadership Waterloo Region.  They offer a series of courses to develop leadership skills for those considering joining a non-profit.  They have some celebrity graduates, including the local fire chief Neil Main.  Learn more at https://www.leadershipwaterlooregion.org/.  Also consider attending their gala on Jan.26 which will be a 1920's jazz theme.  More details on the website.
Program
Today returning member Mike Mitchell gave his "Who Am I talk?".  Mike was introduced by Larry.
Mike started out in Jamaica where cranberries and reggae music are popular.  His family moved to Canada when he was young, where he soon showed his heritage by winning a footrace (in his bare feet) at his new school.  Later on, he worked at Comdev.

Sorry Mike, that's all I've got.  I know, pretty sad.  I had to duck out to take a phone call, but if you want to send me your slides I'll link them on the website.
