Ivana said we have sold 200 tickets for the Crystal Drop Gala. March 18th is the deadline for buying tickets. That's today if you read this bulletin.
Rena wants more wine (for the Crystal Gala Wine Wall). Also April 22nd is Earth Day. Please send your ideas to her for a small project. There is some small amount of money in the kitty for coffee and donuts, etc.

Todd said there is Bingo training coming in April. You get lessons in being a ' stander arounder'....so good training for the city works department too. Also some funny inside joke about getting golf shirts from the Bingo funds. I didn't get it,
Larry spoke about some old photos he was looking through. It had to do with Victim Services.
Program
Firstly, Vince Deciccio  was inducted into our Rotary Club. Welcome Vince.
Also Paul McMenemy and Paul Cody got magnetic Membership Pins for working hard to acquire new members. Raj also gave his Rotary International Membership Pin to Paul McMenemy. He has a lot pins.

Matt Lantz introduced our speaker, Jackie Harris. She began by recognizing that we are living on what were Native lands. She has taught for 17 years and served as an educator for High School Students who are newcomers to Canada. In 2017, she started Rhythm and Blues Cambridge. This organization works  to increase the awareness of people of colour in our community and to support the black community, both young and old.  It is involved  in the Preston Heights Community Centre, Cambridge Food bank, the Idea Exchange ( library) etc. It is involved in community events and cooking celebrations. It helps deal with Mental Health issues in marginalized groups especially young people of colour. Rhythm and Blues Cambridge runs the ' Black Girl Excellence Programme' which works to bring confidence, inspiration and feeling of confidence to young girls.
She said we need more POC as teachers and involved in the School Board.
How can we help? We can engage these issues on Social Media and there are some volunteer opportunities for us such as speaking at schools.
Jackie was thanked by Larry Brokenshire.
Finally Raj welcomed Erica back from the sunny south. It is good of her to spend some time up here with us.
