Program
Noah  introduced James Goodam Director of  Economic Development for the City of Cambridge.

Cambridge is well known for being business friendly.  In fact we came 6th in the small city category for all of North America.  Cambridge has lots of land for development up by Toyota.

Here are a few points that I learned today.

New nonresidential construction permits were up 37% in 2016

There are lots of new businesses that have come to Cambridge recently.   Some are new which is probably part of new building permits and some old that are taking over  properties that were once held by ATS and Blackberry.

Projects ongoing are Back to the River Plan, Pedestrian Bridge, Digital Mapping ( old post office), Preston Street  Scape, and Adam street reconstruction.
He also spoke about the Gas  Lights project by the  The Dunfield.      The general theme of Live Work Play in this area is very exciting.

Cambridge has also been successful in bringing the film industry to Cambridge.  Bravo has "The Handmaidens Tale" on Sundays nights is the latest..  ( I will be sure this summer when having a hot dog at Franks, to check if anyone has been hanged by the river.

Prez elect Jim thanked our speaker and Prez Paul gave the official club thanks.

I almost forgot but Gary Dyke gave James a favourable performance appraisal.
