Opening and Sgt at Arms Report
President Chad chaired the meeting, which started with a slight "technical delay".  Jim M read the 4 way test, Met M lead the invocation and Marcia R gave the Sargent-at-Arms Report.

Cudos to Chad for fighting through the noise of construction and keeping the meeting running smoothly.  That is difficult enough without the extra distractions!!

We had 7 guests, but I was so focused on getting their names that I forgot how many of us were in attendance....I have trouble multi-tasking.

Anna Sheppard - Toronto Sunrise
Mike Lawrie - District Governor Elect
Ron Denham - Speaker (more on him later)
Aldo Villanovich - District Director, International Service
Tom Fornier - Noah
Jay & John Vallis - Paul T

In memory of Bill Mitchell

President  Linda  did a brief commentary on Bill Mitchell as many curlers in the District knew Bill
50-50 Draw

Johnny Smooth hid the Ace of Spades again and a result, Paul T was the loser (twice, as he drew his own number) in the 50-50 draw

Announcements and Upcoming Events
Paul McMenemy promoted our annual Veterans golf tournament on Monday May 11.    That week on the Wednesday May 13 Simcoe is hosting the first Annual Harold Shantz Golf tournament.  We had had a moment of silence and a toast to him earlier in the program.  Harold was a great curler and a supporter of our bonspiel.  He won as a skip both with and without a stick many times.  Harold also won the Can Am bonspiel  and represented Simcoe Canada at the Rotary Worlds in Scotland.

Program
I  forgot to take notes but I believe a team from Grimsby narrowly won the bonspiel.   John Jonas came and we auctioned off golf passses for the Galt Country Club along with Leaf tickets donated bye George Sczepski.  The most coveted prize was won by the team  of Neal Main, Caitlyn, Todd and Randy.  ( a one hour curling lesson)
President Chad  thanked Tom , Kim,  Kathy, Paul and John for a great day.

On behalf of all the curlers a thank you for a fun today.  It is great to socialize with every one.
