Update on Lang's

Debbie Hollahan, 2022

Debbie is the Chief Executive Officer of Langs in Cambridge.  She has been in this position for 9 months after being the Director of the Waterloo Wellington Regional Coordination Centre for the past 11 years.   She is a Registered Nurse and Certified Diabetes Educator with experience in all levels of healthcare, including both frontline and managerial positions in hospitals, community, health education settings and directly for the Ontario Ministry of Health.  She has been respected as a key opinion leader (KOL) for many diabetes industries and has been invited to participate on many national diabetes advisory boards.  Through her vision and leadership, a regional diabetes centralized intake was the first to be developed in the province.  Due to this success, she has since led the development of the Waterloo Wellington regional orthopedic central intake and cataract central intake.  She is often consulted by organizations across the country on how to develop a central intake.

Debbie has published a number of articles as well as is a reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Diabetes.   Prior to practicing diabetes education, Debbie was a critical care nurse, practicing in Mississauga, London and Toronto.  Her strengths lie in her leadership and clinical expertise as well as her business acumen in streamlining processes, while focusing on the health care and social needs of people.

In 2017, for Canada’s 150thanniversary of confederation, Debbie received an award as one of 150 nurses in Canada recognized for being a “pioneer of health innovation” by the Canadian Nurses Association for her work in developing and implementing diabetes central intake.
