Michelle Gellatly
New Executive Director of the Cambridge Humane Society

Michelle Gellatly Michelle is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA specializing in Public Relations and Communications from Royal Roads University in Victoria, B.C. and holds an Honours Diploma in Culinary Arts from Liaison College in Kitchener.

Her career spans small business, corporate, manufacturing, post-secondary education, healthcare and not for profit sectors.

Her passion is fundraising and helping the most vulnerable in her community. Michelle brings to her fundraising roles her business acumen in marketing (including Annual Giving programs), Event Management, Public Relations and Management Consulting.

Some of her leadership positions in the charitable sector as CEO/Executive Director:

  • Caritas Hospitals Foundation (3 faith based hospitals) - Edmonton AB

  • Sunshine Dreams for Kids – London, ON

  • The Guelph Humane Society and Animal Control Services for the City of Guelph

  • Eva Rothwell Resource Centre (A community Centre that supported breakfast and after school Programs for youth at risk, had an emergency food pantry, clothing room) for low income families in Hamilton.

Michelle is now the new Executive Director of the Cambridge Humane Society and Manager of Animal Control Services Cambridge.

Michelle has been a volunteer in many agencies over her lifetime. Organizations she’s volunteered with: YWCA Women of Distinction, C.O.R.D. (Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders), the Canadian Paraplegic Association, The Terry Fox Run, the Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Association, Investing in Children, and as the Director of Vendor Relations with the St. Thomas Air Show and recently at Rotary Ribfest and as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Cambridge Santa Clause Parade.

Michelle lives in Cambridge.  Her son and daughter in law and their two children live in Cambridge and her daughter is just graduating as a Registered Nurse in Alberta.
