The Fundraising Director overlooks the planning of club fundraisers and updates the Board of their progress and profits.  The Fundraising Chair is not responsible to run the fundraisers...it's too big a job...so each campaign has it's own Campaign Chair and supporting committee.  All club members are expected to do their part in the hands-on ticket selling and physical jobs that these fundraisers require.  Marketing of our fundraisers is largely through our public-facing on line presence at cambridgerotary.ca.
We currently have four annual fundraisers:
  1. The Rotary Classic Run (late May) is a 5k or 2.5k event put on in collaboration with the other two Cambridge Rotary clubs.   All proceeds go to Kidsability.
  2. Our Spring Golf Tourney (May) was new in 2017.  50% of the proceeds were donated to help local veterans.  Based on the success of the first year, we are planning to continue it for 2018 onward.
  3. Best Bites (early September) is an outdoor garden party at which local restaurants, wineries, and breweries showcase their products and skills.  Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation helps with organization and ticket sales, and we split the proceeds with them.
  4. Rotary Thanksgiving Roses (early October) is a longstanding campaign in which members sell and deliver roses around the region in the spirit of Thanksgiving.  Up until 2017 we have run this event on our own, but are looking to partner with another local charity to expand the scope and benefits of this fundraiser.
  • Up until 2017, we ran the only Cambridge Oktoberfest over the first weekend of October.  The club is taking a break from this fundraiser in 2018, but it may return in future years.
