August Schedule
Our August schedule is a little different than normal. For our first regular meeting of August (August 13), we will be meeting at Sargent's Gardens North for a Rotation Day! We will not meet on August 20, but will instead be having the District Governor visit and joint 3-club meeting on August 22 at the Mayo Civic Center at noon. There is also a social scheduled for that day (see below). We will be back at the Hilton Garden Inn on August 27 with a regular program and a vocational talk from Beth Sherden!

I am looking forward to a great Rotary month of August!

Mark Your Calendar - DG Visit on August 22

As mentioned above, the 3-club meeting on August 22 will take the place of our regular meeting on that week. In addition to the 3-club meeting, we will be having a social and "Meet and Greet" at Herring Gardens from 5-7pm. More info on Herring Gardens is here: https://www.facebook.com/herringgardens/

Learn more about the "Meet and Greet" with District Governor Paul Perez and register here: https://portal.clubrunner.ca/5636/Event/meet-and-greet-with-dg-paul-perez?fbclid=IwAR3Qb-lbRk_edz5J5HS06qOHl-THeF3KZi9eTG7AqO0p876C4i0An9rCNtY

Greeter List Updated for the Year

The Greeter list has been assigned for the entire year. You can view it here. Keep in mind that some of these dates may change due to holidays and rotation days that are not yet scheduled. Greeters are assigned to each meeting day by the Programs Team and done in a way to spread out the responsibility. If you are unable to serve as Greeter on the day you are assigned, please find a replacement or switch with somebody. Please let me know if you switch so it can be reflected in the newsletter.

As a reminder, Greeters are responsible for welcoming guests and Rotarians to the meeting, collecting payment for meals, introducing guests, leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance and Four-way Test, and sharing a reflection. You are welcome to bring a reflection from home, choose one from the book, or share a personal reflection on service, the community, or Rotary. Thank you for the great job everyone has been doing with greeting!

People of Action T-shirt
Need a Rotary shirt? Of course you do! As a way to recognize Rotarians at the State Fair on August 30, the District is encouraging all Rotarians to wear People of Action shirts. You can purchase these shirts online and shipped to your home online at: https://stores.inksoft.com/rotary_mn_state_fair_blitz/shop/home. These will be great for the day at the Minnesota State Fair. The best part? The shirts are being made by a Rotarian-run business and all profits go to support Polio Plus! Please order before August 13.

Direct Bill

If you are currently billed directly from the Hilton Garden Inn for meals and would prefer that method, please let me know.

Outbound Youth Exchange Students Arrive in Mexico
The Youth Exchange students, Hannah and Freddie, have arrived in Mexico! They are getting to know their host families, attending events of the sponsoring Rotary club, and experiencing the culture of Mexico. They enjoyed a warm Rotary reception right off the plane!

Our inbound student will be coming mid-August.
