November Schedule

We will be meeting at the Hilton Garden Inn on November 12 and 19. Our meeting on November 26 will be a Rotation Day at Gray Duck Theater & Coffeehouse. https://grayducktheater.com/

Holiday Classic

Please mark your calendars for December 27 & 28, 2019. We need all Rochester Rotarians to participate as volunteers at the Holiday Classic. Remember, we receive a grant for helping! We also get to support youth sports and all the benefits that come with that and raise money for other youth initiatives in Rochester. Where else can you triple your impact just by showing up?

Service

Please send service hours to Kim at kimdtm@msn.com

We will be doing the Adopt A Family this year. We will get a list of the nine family members, their ages, and needs from Lutheran Social Services later this month. We will have a sign up at Tuesday’s Risers meeting. Please choose one (or more) if you can assist with this project. We’ll have a gift-wrapping session closer to the due date.

We are planning a date for bell ringing for the Salvation Army. Date, time, and location to be announced later.

We’re pursuing the tree decorating project at Arbor Terrace, like Risers did last year. Watch the newsletter for more details.

Membership

Peggy Elliot has been approved for membership. She will be inducted on November 19.

We have a new member application from Joel McNeil, which has been approved by the board! Let me know any questions or concerns.

Feel free to bring anyone else as a guest that may be interested in Rotary!

Past RI President Ian Riseley Visits District 5960
2017-2018 Rotary International President Ian Riseley visited District 5960 on November 15 at a special breakfast meeting. Riseley is now a Rotary Foundation Trustee. Did you know that Rotarians have contributed $1.2B (yes, billion) to Polio eradication? This is a huge impact! We're not done yet, though, not until we completely eradicate Polio.

SUPPORT THE 2019 ROTARY HOLIDAY CLASSIC
It's not too late to participate as an advertiser for or sponsor of the 2019 Rotary Holiday Classic basketball showcase!

The 32nd Rotary Holiday Classic will take place December 27 & 28 at Mayo Civic Center, and the Rotary clubs of Rochester will once again host 32 boys and girls varsity basketball teams along with their families and fans for games played over the two days. All net proceeds from the event are distributed as Rotary Community Grants to local nonprofit, youth and education-related programs. More than $981,000 has been given over the last 31 years, and Rotarians are looking forward to raising enough money at this year's event to reach that remarkable $1 million!

Program advertisements range in price from $125 for a quarter page to $275 for a full page, and sponsorships range in price from $500 for a bronze sponsorship to $5000 for a platinum sponsorship. Sponsorship benefits include your name on a banner in all game venues; your name and an advertisement in our professionally printed program distributed to attendees; your logo printed on mini basketballs and thrown out to attendees during game halftimes; your name listed on our website, in social media posts, and during games; and complimentary passes to the event.

Please contact the Rotary office at romnrotary@gmail.com if you would like to be a 2019 advertiser or sponsor. You can find event details on the Rotary Holiday Classic website
