At our first ever "Virtual Rotary Meeting,"  Brett VanBlaircom, Lead Coordinator of River Falls Virus Response Team (RFVRT) outlined what the organization is doing and how it intends to proceed through the current COVID-19 pandemic.

With a mission to augment state and county efforts, the group plans to make sure that people get groceries and medications they need during the “safe at home” period.

The group requires all volunteers to attend training, which will be conducted virtually for safety reasons. It will utilize software to handle dispatching and will track all deliveries and drivers.

“Our approach is that safety is paramount,” said Brett. "We have a priority to make sure members are trained to go do this work and stay within safety guidelines for all in the community."

The group will coordinate with area grocery stores, the River Falls Food Pantry, Our Neighbors Place and Meals on Wheels to make sure food and medication is delivered to clients who otherwise have difficulty getting out of the house.
