Pleasant Pasture Farm Animal Sanctuary is a 21-acre farm in New Richmond established three and a half years ago. The mission is stated as: 1) provide a loving forever home for animals in need, and 2) create opportunities for people to connect with nature, the animals and community -- planting the seeds of compassion.   Click Read More for details and speaker bio.

Katherine shared stories of the Sanctuary's residents: twin Highland Heifers and their brother, huge hogs, drunken pigs. She said that they have no chickens because they have hunting dogs. The non-profit is providing a place to heal, learn and give back for individuals throughout the St. Croix Valley.  The organization cost about $18,000 a year for animal feed and some veterinary bills. It is financed with monthly sponsorships for each animal for which the donor gets a picture and the
animal’s story. There are also farm tours and cook-off events.  Katherine's husband feeds the animals twice a day and Katherine does the social media and organizes events. They are thinking of expanding their pasture because they get periodic calls to place animals.  Katherine invited the Rotarians to follow the organization on Facebook and subscribe to their newsletter.
