10/30/18   You are invited. Representatives from the Woodbury Rotary Club will be presenting an update                          on the Uganda Ntugamo Caring Hearts Heifer Project to the Risers on October 30, 7 am, Hilton                        Garden . Our WCS Team (3-Club support) approved funding last year to this project . The                                 Uganda Heifer project  also focuses on children nutrition and creates ongoing sustainability for                          families. Your Foundation dollars saving lives

Mike Becker's mother, Leora Becker, died peacefully on October 18th. Leora was a life-long resident of Rochester and a Mayo Clinic employee for 43 years. She began her employment working for Dr. Donald Balfour and then worked with Drs. Kendall and Hench in the discovery of Cortisone. She was the Supervisor of the Section of Transfusion Medicine for 27 years. She retired in 1991. 
The visitations are 10/23-10/24 and the funeral service is on 10/24.

11/10   Foundation Celebration - Join the fun of doing good  in the the world. 
11/13    Ethics Day for high school sophomores and juniors.

10/16    C2C Summit outlined what has been accomplished and shared the next steps. VERY EXCITING!
10/17  Great presentation by Hope Lodge. Their work lives up to their name - Hope. They provide comfort for people receiving cancer treatment. Lucy's story was inspirational. 
10/18 Better Angel Skills Workshop was also inspirational. One thing I learned is : Don't  try to change people's thinking. Try to understand where they are coming from  so common ground might be found. 
 
"How can we do good in the community?".
Wouldn't it be beneficial if the members donated blood?
Wouldn't it be fun if the 3-Clubs had a friendly competition from February to April to donate blood or plasma to the Mayo Donation Center? 
Did I hear a "Yes"? - - - YES!
 
Each club needs a blood champion. 
Time Commitment: 2-3 meetings to iron out details , such as:                   
-   plan kick off, 
-   plan meeting announcements, 
-   decide on recognitions
-   make meeting announcements
-   give summary report end of April
