Great News! We received an application for membership from Adam Peterson, Food Sourcing Manager at Channel One.  Adam and his wife, Annika, have a two-month old son, Max, so we appreciate his willingness to work Rotary into his busy schedule!

Get on the Bandwagon!

We are exploring the idea of putting together a small “pep band” from the three Rochester Rotary clubs, and are looking for Rotarians who have experience playing brass, woodwind, or percussion instruments.  For our first venture we would learn the National Anthem to play at athletic events around Rochester.  Picture this: “Ladies and Gentlemen, please rise and join the Rochester Rotary Clubs Band for the National Anthem” – and here we come in snappy blue uniforms to present the Star Spangled Banner.  It could be at a Honkers game, or any high school field or gymnasium – definitely at the basketball tournament next December!  It would be a unique and powerful way to present the heart of Rotary to the community.

Our own Steve Dudley is the champion of the Band!  For more info you can email him at sdudley97068@yahoo.com.

ROTARY SERVICE - SAVE THE DATE!  April 23 and 28 - Tree Planting volunteer opportunities in Rochester

Image may contain: text

Rotarians around the world have been challenged to plant one tree for each member. That is 1.2 million trees! In Rochester, we have 300 members. We are not stopping at 300 though. Join us Monday, April 23, 5-7 pm at Bear Creek Park Shelter Area (1237 Marion Rd SE) to plant 300 whips (a small unbranched tree). On Saturday, April 28, at 8:30 am we will plant 200 small trees with RNeighbors at: Apple Ridge Blvd SW between Haralson Ln and Regent Ln SW. Bring a friend or two!
As a major sponsor, the Rotary Clubs of Rochester committed to raising $1,000 to cover a large share of the trees. Consider contributing $25 or whatever you can to this worthy cause. The Rotary Club of Rochester Foundation will be the repository for the charitable donations. Please send your donation to TRCR at P.O. Box 7566, Rochester, MN 55903-7566. Those who contribute $25 will receive one-of-a-kind Rotary Tree Challenge coasters.
Please submit your donations by April 19th.
