Amanda Gilles RD,LD shared important information that I hated to hear. Why?  Because now I will have to do something about reducing my sugar intake.
Remember the "fat scare" and heart attacks. Fat  was removed and sugar was added. Now sugar is in everything and goes by many names.
Carbs - good or bad? The answer is , it depends on the type of carb. Simple carbs - - sugar danger. The main take away - stay healthy by making healthy decisions about what you are eating.
Children like the dictionaries! Their notes are wonderful.
Dear Rotary Club,
Thank you for the dictionaries ! You are all very helpful to Rochester, MN. You help this city a whole bunch. You are really kind  and your dictionaries are very helpful for grammar.
Sincerely, Allyson

Dear Rotarians,
Thank you so much for the dictionaries. We all love them so much. You guys are so cool. I hope one day I can make an impact on our world. We have learned so much from the dictionaries. Thank you, Lulu

Here is something I just learned about when I saw that a friend of mine got an award. I am including the link because of the environmental aspect . I wonder what else is being done in Rochester that we could support.  Just food for thought. Have no idea where this will take us. Ethics - Can we do more?
If you have not viewed it, now is your chance. The main activity we do not do in Rochester is the community forum.  The question is - should we do a community forum? Rotary Clubs are promoting ethics / the 4 Way Test. In Rochester, our three clubs are participating in vocational talks, ethics day for high schoolers, ethics essay contest with a scholarship, RYLA, GRR introduced 1000 3rd graders to the 4 WT , will have a poster contest, will have vocational panels. The video shares what other clubs are doing. PLEASE VIEW the video. Let's see what else we can do to promote high ethical standards in Rochester and with our youth. And let me know how you would like to be involved.
January is Vocational Service Month
Vocational Service month is a great time to celebrate and learn about the life work of our members, whether it is a profession that has lots of history or newly established.
This month and in the months ahead, take some time during your club meetings to have Rotarians share their stories of what they do to impact their world. Relationships will be stronger and one of the reasons for the founding of Rotary will be expressed.
Vocational Service calls every Rotarian to:
aspire to high ethical standards in their occupation; recognize the worthiness of all useful occupations, and; contribute their vocational talents to the problems and needs of society. Click below for more details.
That is what I love about Rotary. Rotarians are doing good in the world.
Hope to see you January 23rd at the Marriott Courtyard.
