The Plastic to Benches project has started the second year of collecting plastic from businesses. This plastic is used by the Trex Company to make decking and chairs that look wood but are made from plastic.
We will earn a bench. Last year the club collected 862, and the RCTC Ecology Club took up the collection and earned an additional 500+ pounds. That is almost 1400 pounds diverted from the landfill.
This year RCTC contacted me, and we are reaching out to the Lions Clubs and Kiwanis Club. The goal is to increase the impact of the project.
