Last Week October 8, 2017:
Digesting the Rapids Sampler '17

Guests sample the cider from No. 12 Cider House at the Rapids Sampler '17 on October 5, 2017.

The Rapids Sampler '17 is in the books and club members debriefed last Monday on the event.  Unofficially, it is estimated that close to 300 people attended, although a full report won't be available until later this week.  In general, the feedback was positive.  Among the "wins" noted:

- Good and food and beverage choices.
- The program, including the 2-part live auction, had good flow/pacing.
- The Yeti Cooler raffle was a nice addition.
- Plinko game was well-received.
- Good opportunities for socializing with guests.

In terms of potential areas for improvement:

- Consider additional high-top tables.
- Larger Silent Auction table.
- Bundle games and raffle tickets into a single currency (Rotary Bucks) to reduce need for cash handling on the floor.
- Re-assess the Live Auction and explore options for shifting to other games or activities.
- Evaluate the use and impact of the Peddle Pub - or any activity that draws people away from the event.
- Involve more members in bead and raffle sales.
- Look at shifting games to front Minnesota PGA Gallery

The Committee and Board will look at these suggestions for Rapids Sampler '18 and beyond.  Thanks to all of the financial underwriters, vendors, guests and club members who donated their money, talents and time to a successful event.   Here are some images from the night.  Thanks to Allison Manson, Marketplace Home Mortgage, for taking photos and assisting with marketing efforts leading up to the event.
