Jerry Koch gives a classification talk to Coon Rapids Rotary club members on August 7, 2017.
To encapsulate the history and high points of one’s life, interests and profession in four minutes is a tall order, but that is precisely what Jerry Koch did last Monday during a classification talk to club members. Life-long Coon Rapids resident, husband, father to 5 kids and 3 grandchildren; member of Epiphany Church; motorcycle enthusiast, river boater and musician specializing in the accordion (Cordavox). Along the way, he worked for the railroad as a bridge mechanic (Burlington Northern) and then switched tracks to real estate, which has been his current profession since 1987. Amidst and amongst all of these things, he has developed an interest in service of various forms. He has served on the Coon Rapids city council (beginning in 2012) and mayor since 2015. In addition, he has also served Coon Rapids Rotary, both as past president and his involvement in the Rapids Sampler, to name a few. Jerry is dedicated to making Coon Rapids a great place and it was evident last week. As Paul Harvey once said “…and now you know the rest of the story.” Thanks to Jerry for sharing part of his story and most importantly your service to Coon Rapids Rotary and the community!
