Dr. Marco Garavaglia is Assistant Professor at the Department of Anesthesia, University of Toronto. He received his M.D and residency training in Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Therapy in Italy. After his 10 years experience working in a busy community hospital and medical rescue emergency teams on ambulances and helicopters in Italy, Dr. Garavaglia decided it was time for a change of scenery (and weather) and moved to Toronto, where he was offered a fellowship position at the University of Toronto. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Garavaglia is involved in research projects in neuroanesthesia and medical education. He has recently developed an innovative and collaborative project between the University of Toronto and the University of Parma to provide a unique opportunity for senior anesthesia residents to gain valuable experience and skills by completing an elective in pre-hospital at the Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Parma. |

Diabetes
Apr. 30, 2018 7:00 p.m.
We are the largest in Canada dedicated to people living with diabetes. Our funding is dedicated to research, programs and services, our signature events and D-Camps which are the only camps dedicated to serving children living with Type 1 diabetes.
I would like to present on the topic of diabetes and bring awareness to how it affects us as a community. Most of us have been touched by diabetes as approximately 30% of Canadians are currently living with diabetes or pre-diabetes.
There will be a Q&A at the end of our presentation for members to ask questions and share their experiences to help expand our knowledge. I would also like to ask for support to send children with Type 1 to camp and/or support our Family Fun Day for children with Type 1.
