Assistant District Governor Nicole Patterson (pictured below) introduced the 7070 District Governor Beth Selby, a past president of the Rotary Club of Cobourg. 

 

 

Beth, whose past positions have included high school principal, regional superintendent for schools and hospital board chair, spoke of RI goals and those of her own. 

 

RI theme for the year is Rotary Connects the World.  Beth’s first goal as DG is achieving 20 inbound and 20 outbound exchange students in the district in 2020.  She explained how her life and the lives of students had been enriched by the seven exchange students her family has hosted in the past.  There was no better way of making Rotary connect the world. Her second goal is assisting presidents in strengthening their clubs, and in response to questions on how to do this she gave concrete examples.
