Ongutoi Medical Centre in Uganda

Richard Mewhinney has been involved with the Ongutoi Medical  Centre in Uganda since 2009.  The medical centre, built with the assistance of Rotarians in Canada and around the world, supported by RI Grant, provides much needed medical care to the Ongutoi area population that have been displaced as a result of twenty years of civil unrest and war.  Since its inception in 2005, over one hundred thousand patients have received medical care at the centre.

Richard Mewhinney is the Past President of the Rotary Club of Newmarket and currently serves as the Literacy Chair for District 7070.  He holds a BA in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Toronto and is a registered Mortgage Agent with Homeguard Funding Ltd.
