European Military Cemetary Visit

Joe Clarke is Professor Emeritus at University of Toronto and the current President of the Rotary Club of Toronto Eglinton.

Throughout his illustrious career in medicine as an expert in genetics and metabolism, Joe worked in various influential positions.  For over two decades he was the Director, Genetic Metabolic Diseases Program and Senior Associate Scientist at the Hospital For Sick Children.  As Professor at University of Toronto, Joe supervised postgraduate clinical training for eighteen years.  He also consulted the the Ontario Government on policy relating to and operation of prenatal and neonatal screening programs in his capacity as Chairman of the Ontario Advisory Committee on Maternal-Child Screening.

Joe is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, including:  The Wilder Penfield Award for Excellence, Above and Beyond Awad, the Richard Rowe Award for Excellence, the Harry Bain Award for Excellence in Clinical Training, as well as the Founder's Award bestowed in 2016 by the Canadian College of Medical Genetisists in recognition of life-time achievements and support of the institution.

Among his many accomplishments is the publication of A Clinical Guide to Inherited Metabolic Diseases, 3rd ed., which Joe authored in 2006.

Joe holds degrees from the University of Alberta, McGill University as well as th University of Toronto.

Joe is the Past President of the Toronto Eglinton Rotary Club and current Co--Chair of World International Service Committee.  On his most recent travels to Europe, Joe visited a military cemetary.
