Rahim Essabhai has been an educator for over a decade.  Currently he teaches Grade 12 Business at John Polanyi Collegiate Institute and leads the Integrative Thinking (I-Think) Leadership Program at JPCI, a program offered in partnership with the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.

The mantra "Legacy is not what you leave for people, but what you leave in people", words on a wall of a refugee camp library along the Kenyan/Somalian border where Rahim trained teachers in 2011, guides this teacher to lead his students to design business projects that will benefit society, both locally and internationally.

In 2014, Rahim has led his students to a gold medal at the Students for Advancement of Global Achievement (SAGE) competition.  This was followed by competing at the World Cup in Moscow, Russia.  His many accomplishment also include working with students and teachers raising over $40,000.  The funds were used to build a school in Nicaragua.

Earlier this year, Rahim was recognized with The Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence.  He was among only eleven teachers in Canada and one of just five Ontarians to be bestowed such an honor.
