Through the Lens of a New-Age Approach: Family-Centred Care in Canada's Welfare System

Brittany Herbold is the YouthCAN Program Coordinator at the Ontario Association of Childern's Aid Societies (OACAS).  For over a hundred years, the association, representing 48 member organizations, has been enhancing and promoting the welfare and well-being of children, youth and families in Ontario.   OACAS facilitates a multi-component program for youth in care of Ontario’s Children’s Aid Societies called YouthCAN run by and for youth and former youth in care. YouthCAN focuses their efforts on communication, advocacy and networking, and are dedicated towards improving the quality of care for youth in Ontario’s child welfare system.
