This week: Allison Johnson of the Girl Scouts
This week, we'll be hearing from Allison Johnson, Allison Johnson, Chief Business Officer of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. This promises to be a great presentation by someone who is spending their time directly focused on helping the next generation.
Since last October, Michigan Rotarian Jeff Molby has been riding his bike across the country on a two-year journey to promote the American Cancer Society's Road to Recovery program. That program provides free transportation to and from appointments related to patient's cancer treatment, and is in dire need of volunteers. Jeff will be talking about the program and his epic journey so far.
It was great hearing from Sarah Hermanson, founder and CEO of One Above HR, last week on rethinking recruiting to find the best candidates and reach the next generation of talent. As someone who just recently hit 40, I'm already seeing real differences between my approach to work and the next generation's, and it's important to maintain our ability to communicate across those divides.
Please keep working to find opportunities for sponsorships for the Big Drop! This truly is the most successful way for us to raise funds for our largest annual fundraising effort. You can remind prospective donors that these funds are going to great local causes like our Kirkwood scholarships, the LBA Foundation, and the Academy for Scholastic and Personal Success. Kirkwood needs no introduction, and these latter two organizations have a proven track record of success in supporting local students to improve their educational outcomes.
If you haven't yet, please talk to your employers and local business about supporting the Big Drop. There are multiple levels of support that make it an option for any advertising budget. Remember that this is our chance to make a big impact for local education - and thank you!
