Through James's connections a box of 12 coats has been delivered to Jan Hanks, our Van Buren contact, who will make sure that those coats get to some very needy kids at Van Buren.  We are still taking donations from Club members to cover the cost of additional coats.  Below James and Jan are shown with one of the coats.  If you would like to donate please send your check to Jim Coller at Business Innovative Growth, Inc., 826 Summit St., P.O. Box 524, Center Point, IA 52213.  Please help us reach our new goal of a second box.  

 

Our annual day to ring bells for the Salvation Army will be held on November 21 at the HyVee on Wilson Avenue.  Ringing starts at noon and goes until 8 pm.  Time slots are for one hour.  Contact Liz Durham at tedurham1010@yahoo.com  or 319-310-1300 if you are interested in ringing and she can let you know what time slots remain open.  She will take care of signing you up.  If you cannot ring on that day, you can still go to the Salvation Army website to signup for a different time, date and location.  Contact Liz on how to signup direct.  You will need to use her user name and password.

November foundation month and Coats for Kids were discussed.  Liz talked about the spots remaining to be filled for Bell Ringing for Salvation Army on November 21.  Rhonda has reached out to determine if schools want to continue our Teacher Recognition program.  The response was positive so we will start doing the awards in February with one per meeting.

 

Rochelle introduced our program.  Mary Zeran talked about her exhibit at the CR Art Museum called Ten Years.  She shared the exhibit with us through zoom.  Mary was born in Iowa City and is a U of I graduate.  She lives in CR.   She paints on polyester film creating very colorful art.  Dennis congratulated Mary for being recognized during the Museum's 125th anniversary.  One of Mary's pieces was hanging behind Rochelle during the zoom call.
