Big Drop July 16th

A Message From Tom Vandervaart.

Hello fellow West Rotarians. It’s that time of year where we ask for your help so our club can continue its tremendous tradition of making a difference in our community. The 5^th annual BigDrop is Saturday July 16^th so please plan on coming to the Farmers Market that day and helping for a few hours. Ahead of that we have the ball audit on the evening of June 22^nd which will serve as our June service project. That will be held at the Cherry building. Please bring your own beverage. Lastly and more importantly is the sales of Ping Pong Balls. We have a goal to sell 4000 balls and we have about 40 members so that’s 100 balls per member. Please do what you can to make the ask. Some folks even like to buy balls and name their favorite charity as the recipient. I have created ‘sell kits’ which include information on our recipients, some BigDrop Lip Balm as incentive for your buyers, and of course raffle tickets. The tickets include a QR code to buy tickets electronically. I have some kits here at my office if you need to grab one outside of our meeting time. We need to know asap if you would like a Tshirt. We are going with hot pink this year. Please let Chuck know what size you need at ckudej@amfam.com. Cost is yet to be determined

This is our only fund raiser, we have about a month so thank you and ready….set….go

Meeting and Renewal of Membership

Just a reminder that our next meeting is June 15th, Noon at the Czech and Slovak National Museum and Library. Randy Burke from Linn County will be our guest speaker.

Our service project for June will be the Big Drop ball audit on June 22nd after 5:30. We will be meeting at the Cherry Building and with a good turn out this will take about 90 minutes.

We are coming to the close of the Rotary year. Membership dues will be mailed shortly for the 2022-2023 year. The board has adopted some new membership categories. I will be sending the new structure in a separate email. Please let Dave Mally or myself know if you fall under one of the new categories and we will adjust your invoice.

We pay international and district dues on the members on record as of July 1st 2022. I hope no one is considering not staying a club member, but if you are, could you please let me or Janette know so we can update the roster on June 30th. This will assist in being good stewards of the membership dues as we plan for 2022 - 2023.
