COME CZECH IT OUT HAS STARTED
We are now holding our meetings at the Czech Museum.   Dostal's will provide food. It will be either a hot or cold lunch box with menu changing each week.  Cost will be $10.  Matt T will send out an email the week before asking for people to contact him if they want a lunch box.  You must contact him by 10 a.m. the Monday before the meeting.  At this time if you order it you will pay for it at the door by cash or check unless you make special arrangements with one of the Treasurers.  Eventually, it is anticipated that you can arrange for prepaid meals at the time you pay dues.  There will be spaced tables and chairs.  Masking will be required except when eating.

Thanks to our tech guy Dennis Green we have zoom capabilities for those who prefer that option.  Watch for emailed zoom information since the zoom info is changing in an effort to have a chat function.
May 5 Meeting
A nervous Larry greeted everyone to his first live meeting as President.  It was nice to be back at the Czech Museum after being displaced by the flood in 2008.  A special thanks goes to all of those people that made this possible.

Our thanks also go to Dennis for the tech support, Mike for the news, Larry for the invocation, pledge, and 4way test, and to Charles for leading us in song, including Happy Birthday to Rochelle, John Z, and Mary S.  Rochelle's May 3 birthday was made special since she now shares it with a new grandson.

Paul Harris recognition awards were presented to Matt, Janette, Todd, Brian, and Lijun.  Jeff K was also recognized by zoom.  Todd mentioned his first meeting was in June 2008 just before the flood so it was nice to be back where he started.

Larry mentioned Kirkwood scholarship winners have been chosen for the nine high schools.  Their names will be announced later in May.

Tom V gave an interesting presentation on "Door Dashing."  Delivering meals via Dash can be both fun and lucrative per Tom.  "Charming Tom" received high marks from his patrons as well as some nice tips.  John Z is presenting the classic "Are You My Mother" to Van Buren in Tom's honor.
May 6 Board Meeting
Board minutes can be found on our website.  Generally, the following were discussed:
1.  Our commitment for Kirkwood scholarships for this past year has now been paid.  A number of winners did not attend.  As a result $1750 was paid vs the $4500 awarded.
2.  We will again support the Rotary Pribyl golf tournament to be held the first week in August at $3 per member.
3.  Big Drop sponsorships are going well with $4500 raised as of the last report.  We are looking at the drop being conducted at NewBo Market on August 7.
4.  We will devote the fourth Wednesday of each month to a service activity, as well as dong something special the fifth Wednesday.
5.  Interact teachers are changing next year since Larry Simons is retiring.  The new teachers are Sharon Stoll and Danielle Maus.  A Club member is still needed to be our contact next year.
6.  We still need a President-elect.  Matt will work on finding someone.
7.  Matt will be ordering the piano lab plaque and delivering it.
