Earth Day Service Project--April 21
April 22 is Earth Day.  We are planning a service project day for our April 21 regular meeting.  There will be no zoom option that day.  Instead, we will be meeting at the Nature Center to help with some work projects involving the hoop house, as well as sprucing up the grounds.  Those attending are encouraged to bring a sack lunch since the outdoor patio will be available.  Perhaps Liz can bring some of her goodies to share that day as well.  The plan would be to start at 11:30 that day so we can be done by 1.  Further details will be given as we get closer to the date.  In the meantime, thank you Jane S for giving us this opportunity to meet again in person while doing some service work.  Please reserve the date and plan on attending!
Virtual District Conference April 30-May 1
Registration for the conference is now open.  This is the perfect opportunity to attend since it will be conducted by zoom so there is no travel involved and there is no cost to register.  A number of excellent speakers have been arranged.  Watch for future notices about the conference and register even if you cannot make all of the events.

A silent auction and a duck pluck fundraiser will be part of the events.  Please support those events as well, even if you cannot attend.  Our Club has donated a Cedar Ridge gift box featuring a bottle of  Slipknot No. 9 Reserve signed by the band founder "Clown."
March 31 meeting
Our thanks go to Mike for the news, to Brian for the invocation, pledge, and 4way test, and to Charles for leading us in song.

It was announced that our social hour will be held at 5pm next Thursday April 8.  Watch for details from Janette.

Teressa lead us in an exciting game of Kahoots for Fun and Frolic.  Thanks so much Teressa for doing this.  Congratulations to the three prize winners.

John Z announced in Teressa's honor the book "Three Tales of Trickery" will be donated to Van Buren.
April 1 Board meeting
The Board meeting began with a discussion about the Club's future, including officers, meeting location, and membership.  Jim and Teressa will be sharing the Secretary duties in the future.  Nate and Dave will be sharing the Treasurer duties. Larry would like to get back to in person meetings when Club members are ready.  He is exploring various locations in addition to our current location.  How to distribute the Big Drop funds was also discussed.  A special meeting of the Board will be held by zoom at noon on April 16.  Complete minutes of the meeting will be posted to our website.
Teacher Recognition Continues Into April
Rhonda has been organizing our teacher recognition program.  The teacher from Prairie, Colin O'Brien, remains to be introduced at a zoom meeting in April.  Congratulations again to all the teachers.
