Deafinitely Dogs! is a non-profit organization that enriches the lives of people with disabilities by placing highly-trained dogs, trained specifically for their individual needs. The organization strives for increased independence for their clients and believes in the dog/human bond.
February 25 Service Event: Central Furniture Rescue
Central Furniture Rescue provides furniture and household items at no cost to individuals and families who are transitioning out of experiencing homelessness and into their own places to live.
Join us from noon to 1 p.m. on February 25th at 2275 16th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids. Organizers are finding some sorting and other tasks we can do over the lunch hour. Click the link below to let us know you can make it.
After a lot of questions by us, Mira Gibbons and Janset Celik performed an original song composed by a friend. If you missed the meeting, you can watch it on our Facebook page.
We learned a lot about Mira's musical journey and the group she's organized to change the world one song at a time.
Mira has performed more than 350 free concerts at senior living centers, libraries, fundraisers, and schools. Mira started playing violin when she was 10-years-old.
