Our thanks go to Dave and Bruce for doing the SA and Cashier duties, to Mike for the news, to Matt for the invocation, pledge and 4way test, and to Dana for leading us in song. Also, we thank Matt for his efforts to setup our zoom meeting in the absence of Dennis and the normal Museum IT person. With some flexibility we got it to work. We received updates as to the Big Drop and RYLA and YRYLA as covered elsewhere in this newsletter. It was decided by a show of hands that lunches would be available at the Museum on June 30 per the normal routine even though we are doing service projects at the Museum that day. If eating lunch, you should try to arrive early to allow sufficient time to eat before the projects start. Janette introduced our speaker Kirsten Corrigan who presented a PowerPoint on "Our Shaken Baby Syndrome Journey--A Story of Forgiveness, Resilience, and Joy." She related the story of her son Ryan who as the result of abuse by a childcare provider suffered Shaken Baby Syndrome. Ryan now has significant cognitive and physical challenges, although maintaining a delightful personality. Kirsten now educates others about Shaken Baby Syndrome. John Z will present to Van Buren the book "Willow on the River" in honor of Kirsten's presentation. |
