Rev. Dr. Jerry Dale Springston, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, his 86th birthday, after an acute illness.
Starting as one of the first Peace Corps members to serving multiple congregations around the country, Jerry embodied serving others. He spent 50 years as a Rotarian and served in positions such as Club Secretary, Club President, Club Sponsor and District Governor.

Rebecca will give an overview of the Leadership for Five Seasons programs, talk about applications which will just be opening up - and then hand things over to Tara to share their class project.
Leadership for Five Season (LFS) is a premier community leadership program focusing on development of top talent through a formal leadership curriculum. Participants are selected after a highly competitive application process from area businesses, public and private agencies, civic and other organizations.

The Cedar Rapids Independent Film Festival holds its 23rd edition April 9-12, 2026. Friday-Sunday screenings will be held at Collins Road Theatres. NEW for 2026: Thursday Night Screenings at the Olympic South Side Theater and Ideal Theater & Bar, both in Cedar Rapids’ NewBo District.
CRIFF will celebrate the work of filmmakers from across the state, throughout the country, and around the world, all with connections to Iowa. This year, we received a record 121 entries – a testament to the amount of work Iowa-connected filmmakers are creating!

Rotary West Rotarians sorted shoes, folded clothes and re-arranged the storage area at Families Helping Families of Iowa last week. Looking back on some recent service events, we're getting really good at overhauling a storage area in 60 minutes or less!
FHF supports children in foster care and the caregivers who open their hearts and homes to them. The group's comprehensive approach is reflected in its nine programs, which cover a wide range of needs in three categories: essentials, education, and celebrations. FHF is the only organization supporting foster children that operates in all 99 counties in Iowa. Its home base is Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the city with the second highest number of children in foster care.
