October 22 Service Event: Cops n Kids at Matthew:25 
Our October service event really shows how a little work on our part can make a big impact on someone else's life. Join us at Groundswell Cafe at 11:30 a.m. if you want to buy yourself something to eat. Then at noon, we'll get to work in one of the rooms at Matthew:25 cleaning and sorting books for the Cops N Kids program. The program's goal is to distribute 5,000 books annually to at-risk children in the Central District of Cedar Rapids. Click the link below to sign up so we know you're coming!

Joe Winters did a great job walking us through weather watches, warnings and advisories. We also learned a lot about the derecho and how everything came together to create the storm that lingered over Cedar Rapids in 2020.  

Joe has been forecasting the weather for Eastern Iowa at KCRG-TV9 for more than 33 years. His forecasts can be seen on KCRG-TV9's afternoon and evening newscasts.

Here's an opportunity to take advantage of our Fifth Wednesday time to get to know our fellow Rotarians. No program. Just food, fun and fellowship. 
 
Please join us if you can at Cliff's Dive Bar at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29. You'll find this eatery at 227 2nd Ave SE, Cedar Rapids. This is one of Cale Henderson's places that he talked about during his presentation. Email Mike (mikewagner@alliantenergy.com) by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before so we can tell them how many people are coming.
