This Week: February Service Event: Central Furniture Rescue
Central Furniture Rescue provides furniture and household items at no cost to individuals and families who are transitioning out of experiencing homelessness and into their own places to live.
Join us from noon to 1 p.m. on February 25th at 2275 16th Avenue SW in Cedar Rapids. Organizers are finding some sorting and other tasks we can do over the noon hour. Click the link below to let us know you can make it.

Kim Pang from Cedar Crossing Casino gave us an update on the construction of Cedar Rapids' new casino.
Kim told us to plan for a New Year's Eve opening later this year. It was interesting to learn what goes into building a casino from slot machines that can changed to different games to the various non-gambling options that are in the works.
The Cedar Crossing Casino is described as a $275m project to boost tourism and economic development in Cedar Rapids.
