On Wednesday we will be hosting our Prospect New Member event! 
 
Several club members will be sharing about various aspects of our club: focus on education, monthly service events, foundation, and relationship building through Rotary.  It should be a really fun presentation and even though you already know about Rotary, it is so, so important that you attend so our prospective members see a vibrant, friendly group of new friends! 
 
We will be serving pizza and salad and Chuck and David are bringing homemade desserts. (And maybe I'm forgetting someone else!)  Bring your own beverage.

Lacey Becker, Executive Director of the CORDA Teacher Store will visit us to tell us how the store is supporting K-12 educators in the Cedar Rapids area.
 
Organized after the 2008 Flood, the CORDA Teacher Store has helped bridge the resource gap between what schools and families can provide and what students need to succeed, ensuring educators have access to essential supplies without personal financial burden.  
 
 
 
Last Week: April Service Event - Days for Girls
 
We had quite the crowd tracing, cutting and stacking the parts and pieces for the Days for Girls sewing team. It was amazing to see how a few scraps of fabric could be sewn together to create something that could improve the health, education and livelihood of women and young girls.
 
Days for Girls is an international organization that works to increase access to menstrual care and education by developing global partnerships, cultivating social enterprises, mobilizing volunteers and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigma and limitations for women and girls.
