As the cold days grow closer, we'll also be taking donations at the next few meetings to support Coats for Kids outreach at Van Buren Elementary School. Kim Kudej has contacted the school counselors and they've identified some kids who need coats. We'll want to work on gathering some cash at our next few meetings so we can get the coats to the school before it gets really cold.

Cale Henderson, co-owner of the FNF (Fun Not Fancy) Restaurant Group will join us to tell us more about the concept behind FNF. The group operates seven eateries in Cedar Rapids and Marion that "evoke emotion & fuel positive vibes."
We had quite the time helping out at the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library for the September service event. From making calls and sharing information to some manual labor, we helped the NCSML check a whole bunch of things off its "to do" list.
Peter Teahan will join us fresh from his trip to Circle the Atlantic to raise money for Rotary's work to end polio.
Peter and Ed Galkin are piloting a 1976 Cessna 210 single-engine airplane on a 37-day, 8,800 nautical mile flight around the Atlantic Ocean. The flight includes layovers that will allow them to work on the plane and to hold multiple fundraisers with Rotary Clubs in every country they stop in.
Pilot Ed Galkin, 89, will set the record for being the oldest pilot in history to fly a single-engine airplane across the Atlantic. He has completed four around-the-world flights, including his most recent in 2022 at the age of 87.
The Flight to Fight Polio: Ed and Peter are making their way stateside with stops in Portugal, Newfoundland and New Hampshire.
